摘要
This paper presents a method of river network identification using GIS and Remote Sensing for Gomati basin situated in Uttar Pradesh, India. Digital elevation model for Gomati basin is obtained from ASTER 30m data. The river network of Gomati basin is extracted by using eight flow direction matrix (D8) available in extension Spatial Analyst (Hydrology Toolbox) within ArcGIS 10.1. The methodology of river network identification in a basin involves filling of DEM, finding flow direction and flow accumulation and then providing reasonable stream threshold.
