Architecture: Architects of a low-energy future

Low- and zero-energy buildings could have a huge impact on energy use and carbon emissions. The technologies are available, but if they are to mitigate climate change, green-building design must hit the mass market. Construction of buildings consumes a lot of energy, and is accompanied by emission of carbon into the atmosphere, thus resulting in a climate change. This environmental impact could lead to serious consequences, and therefore, construction of low-energy buildings in currently being considered.
