摘要
The activity concentrations of the three primordial radionuclides have been measured in the sand samples of Agastheeswaram taluk using Nal(Tl) gamma ray spectrometer. The average activities of Th-232, U-238 and K-40 have been found to be 5787.15, 1082.90 and < 13.85 Bq kg(-1) (BDL), respectively. The calculated annual effective dose is 4.78 mSv year(-1) and the results are discussed in this paper. (c) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
