Analysis of the patterns of corneal topography in myopia up to 12 diopters at post-PRK and LASIK

摘要
We analyzed the topographic patterns in patients with myopia up to -12 diopters (D) in the 12 month postoperative course after excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). In a preliminary review of the patterns in patients treated with PRK or LASIK, each color map was allocated to one of eight defined treatment zone topography categories: Homogeneous; Toric-with-axis; Toric-against-axis; Irregularly irregular; Asymmetric Bow tie, Semicircular; Central island; Focal topographic variant. Our findings suggest that postoperative changes of the topographical patterns in LASIK arc. more regular than those in PRK in the first three months of the post-operative period in myopia less than -4 diopters. This correlation is less manifest in moderate and high myopia.
