摘要
Ti/RuO2-Sb2O5-SnO2 electrodes are cost-effective. Previous study has demonstrated their good performance for oxygen evolution. In this paper, the Ti/RuO2-Sb2O5-SnO2 electrodes were used for chlorine evolution from seawater. The physicochemical and electrochemical properties of the electrodes were investigated, and electrocatalytic activity for chorine evolution was examined under different conditions. It was shown that the RuO2-Sb2O5-SnO2 coating had microporous structure and existed in the form of a solid solution. The current efficiency ranged from 80.0% to 90.4%, depending on the operational conditions. The service life was predicted to be over 5 years at a current density of 500 A m(-2).
