摘要
The study of socio-spatial segregation in contemporary metropolises shows an emphasis on residential differentiation as well as on class or racial relations in contiguous spaces; however, it does not recognize an active participation of space in its constitution. Through a geographical approach, this article considers the influence of the uneven development of space and the urbanalization constitutive of current urban centers on the mechanisms of segregation. The analysis of the marginalization index and models of global and local spatial autocorrelation with economic information from the year 2018 and 2020 census, exposes an invisibilization of the spatial influence on the mechanisms of social stratification in the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara, which underlines the need to open a debate around its conception as an element of urban structural violence.
