摘要
This communication reports on the synthesis and characterization of monodispersed iron oxide nanoparticles having uniform particle size at 25 degrees C. Applying a simple organic methodology, first a surface-modifying agent has been prepared. The as-synthesized surface-modifying agent was then used for in-situ synthesis of monodispersed magnetic nanoparticles at room temperature. The synthesized nanoparticles are characterized by XRD, TEM, FTIR and H-1 NMR techniques. XR-D shows that the synthesized particles are highly crystalline and TEM images show that synthesized surface-modified iron oxide nanoparticles are spherical with size around 25 nm. The surface-modified iron oxides are highly dispersible in non-polar organic solvents like hexane, toluene etc. (c) 2008 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
