摘要
This study reveals the peculiarities of the language of the religious texts of Markijan Saskevyc and the usage of clerical and philosophical terminology therein. A detailed analysis of phonetics, morphology, lexical base and stylistics reflects the complex nature of the emerging Ukrainian language in Galicia. The usage of clerical and philosophical terminology in Saskevyc's sermons and translations of the Holy Scriptures accents his innovative approach before at the end of the 19th century attempts were undertaken to create Ukrainian terminologies on the basis of common language. The usage of the dialectal Galician forms allowed assuming their supraregional nature in the first half of the 19th century.
