摘要：
The purpose of this paper is to review some case histories and discuss the geotechnical criteria followed in the design of some of the Portugal's most important road tunnels. Particularly the following projects will be reviewed: A9-Carenque tunnel, IP2-Gardunha I & II tunnels and IP3-Regua & Varosa tunnels.
