摘要
One of the major by-products of the steel industry is the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) slag. AEIFOROS S.A. was established in 2001 and since then has been producing EAF Slag aggregates for antiskid course for highways, rural and urban motorways. Through a joint research program with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki a continuous investigation of slag aggregate behavior in skid resistant course has been closely studied. The findings were compared to in-situ data taken from anti-skid courses with natural hard aggregates on the same highways. The results have shown greater durability of skid resistant courses by EAF slag compared to natural hard aggregates, fully satisfying greek specifications.
