Calculation of a System for Forming a Bremsstrahlung Beam in Discretely Falling Magnetic Field

摘要
A scheme for constructing an output device based on the principle of electron beam cooling is considered. Cooling occurs in the drift space between neighboring converters (foils) due to the magnetic field of lenss placed in succession with the same magnetic field direction in neighboring lenss. Techniques and numerical examples of a calculation for evaluating the capabilities of the system and preliminary estimates in designing are presented. The computational results show that at energy 15-20 MeV the angular divergence of the bremsstrahlung beam can be decreased by almost 10-fold.
