摘要：

Wavelet Transform is usually used for preprocessing the images in order to handle bad illumination in face recognition. This paper analyzes the algorithm of wavelet transform in face representation. A two-step method is used for face representation, firstly two-dimensional Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is used to transform the faces to a more discriminated space and then Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is applied in this method. In the last procedure SVM is used as classifier.
