Hydrothermal reaction of H-Imazethapyr (2-(4,5-dihydro-4-methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-5-oxo-1H-imidazol-2-yl)- 5-ethyl3-pyridinecarboxylic acid) with Cd(ClO(4))(2)center dot 6H(2)O offers a diamond-like MOF 1 Cd(Imazethapyr) 2 in which it crystallizes in a non-centrosymmetric space group (Fdd2) belonging to polar point group (C(2v)). MOF 1 displays a strong SHG response, and good ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties.
