摘要：

The use of advanced materials in sports and some ethical questions related to their use are discussed. The characteristics of materials that must be considered in designing sports equipment are listed: strength, ductility, density, fatigue resistance, toughness, modulus, and cost. The materials meeting the requirements of sports equipment are metals, ceramics, polymers and various fiber reinforced composites based on metal, ceramic and plastic matrix.
