Crystallization characteristics and corrosion properties of slag glass-ceramic prepared from blast furnace slag containing rare earth

摘要
Tailing glass-ceramic from blast furnace slag was prepared and the effect of different crystallization temperature on the crystallization characteristics and corrosion properties of glass-ceramic was investigated. It can be found that spinel phase of (Mg,Mn)Cr2O4 can first appear in glass matrix at the crystallization temperature 720 degrees C. With the increase of crystallization temperature, spinel can act as nuclei for crystallization of diopside and there are some crystallographic relation between diopside and spinel. The corrosion resistance of glass phase enriched in Na, Al and Si was weaker than that of crystalline phase and the corrosion resistance of glass-ceramic increased with the increase of crystallization degree. The second phase of calcium cerite phase existing in the grain boundary also contributed to the improvement of corrosion resistance. Glass-ceramic crystallized at 950 degrees C achieved a remarkable improvement on acid-resistance that reached 95.5% with a Vickers hardness of 7.76 GPa and bending strength of 123 MPa.
