Combining multipolling method with frame aggregation for collecting RFID tag information in IEEE 802.11 wireless LANs

摘要
IEEE 802.11 wireless LANs can be used to relay the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag information from the RFID readers to information systems such as logistics information systems, which collect and employ the RFID tag information for efficient decision making. In this paper, we combine the multipolling method in [12], which is based on the connectivity information among the STAs (Stations), and the frame aggregation method for efficiently collecting the RFID tag information in IEEE 802.11 wireless LANs. By numerical examples we show that the multipolling method combined with the frame aggregation method can significantly improve the wireless LAN MAC performance for collecting the RFID tag information with respect to the bounded-delay throughput.
