Synthesis and Photocatalytic Activity of Ultrafine SrNb6O16 Nanoparticles Supported on Graphene Oxide Nanosheets

摘要
Novel SrNb6O16/GO nanocomposites have been successfully synthesized via a facile, template-free and one-step hydrothermal synthesis process. The prepared materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) specific surface areas, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) and Photoluminescence spectra (PL). The prepared SrNb6O16/GO nanocomposites showed superior photocatalytic activity than pure SrNb6O16 nanoparticles and Degussa P25 in the degradation of RhB under simulated sunlight irradiation. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of SrNb6O16/GO nanocomposites could be mainly ascribed to the significantly increased adsorption capacity and the prolonged lifetime of electron hole pairs. This work not only provided a simple way to synthesize graphene based composites but also a pathway to obtain efficient functional materials for environmental purification and other applications.
