摘要
Background: In recent years the number of health professionals suffering from Burnout syndrome has increased. Some of them, even under stressful situations, do not show the syndrome, a response in which resilience is involved. Objective: to describe the behavior of Burnout syndrome and resilience in Intensive Care Units workers. Methods: a descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out from September to December 2018. Were studied all (N = 90) of the Intensive Care workers of the Cienfuegos Provincial Hospital. A questionnaire of sociodemographic variables, the Maslach Burnout Inventory Scale and the Connor- Davidson Resilience Scale were applied. Each variable was processed according to its distribution, scale and type. The information was presented in the different contingency tables. Results: women (64.4%) and the age group of 30-49 years of age (67.8%) predominated. Burnout syndrome was present in the high category in 64 professionals (71.1%). All dimensions of the syndrome were found in this category. Resilience was evidenced at a high level in 83 subjects (92.2%). Conclusion: the studied subjects were mostly affected by Burnout syndrome. Resilience was a personal characteristic present in almost all of the people included in the study, which was not related to the high levels of the syndrome.
