摘要
Continuous non-invasive electroencephalographic (EEG) monitoring is an essential technique in the critical care patient. Continuous EEG recording in patients with altered level of consciousness, seizures, convulsive and non-convulsive status epilepticus has been increasing in last years because real time feedback about cerebral functioning, showing evolutive changes, allowing to identify electric and subclinical epileptic seizures. Indeed, electrographic seizures have no clinical correlation and they are doubtfully diagnosed in clinical practice. These findings in EEG monitoring allow modifications in pharmacologic and antiseizure treatment.
