摘要
Nanofluid is one of the latest technologies aimed to increase the displacement that occurs in a heat exchanger working system. Nanofluid is used because it has better thermophysical properties than commonly used fluids such as water, oil, or ethylene glycol. This article will discuss the effect of adding MnFe2O4 Nanoparticles with ethylene glycol base fluid to the thermophysical properties of Nanofluid and heat transfer characteristics which occurs when applied to a heat exchanger. The addition of MnFe2O4 Nanoparticles varied with volume fractions. This study used a shell and tube type heat exchanger with a laboratory scale, where the heat exchanger will be used as a testing medium to determine the characteristics of heat transfer using MnFe2O4 Nanofluid. Characteristic testing of heat transfer on a heat exchanger was carried out using a variation of the volumetric flow rate of 0.2 L/min, 0.4 L/min and 0.6 L/min. Thermophysical properties test results can be increased as the concentration of nanoparticles increases, where the Nanofluid which has the best thermophysical properties the addition of 0.075% MnFe2O4 nanoparticles. The similarity also occurs in the testing of heat transfer characteristics where the heat transfer analysis uses the LMTD method.
