Temperature dependence of internal friction in invar Fe-Ni-C alloys

摘要
The temperature dependences of internal friction (TDIF) in the invar f.c.c. Fe-Ni and Fe-Ni-C alloys containing nearby 30 wt.% are studied by means of the resonance bend-vibrations' method at. frequencies of 1.5-2 kHz within the temperature range of 100-900 K at the deformation amplitude of epsilon = 2.10(-6). The analysis shows that the internal-friction peak corresponds to the Finkelstein-Rozin relaxation,and the estimated activation energy of this peak is approximately 1.1 eV. The low-temperature growth of internal friction on the TDIF curve for the Fe-Ni-C alloy, which is typical for these alloys with higher Ni concentration (36%), is not revealed.
