Synthesis of 3R-CuMO2+δ (M = Ga, Sc, In)

摘要
Improvements have been made in the single-phase synthesis of 3R CuScO2 and CuInO2 by the metathesis reaction between CuCl and AMO(2) (A= Li, Na; M=Sc, In). A new flux-assisted procedure has also been devised for the preparation of single-phase CuGaO2 at temperatures near 600degreesC. Oxygen insertion into CuScO2 and CuInO2 has been examined by heating samples in air to a temperature of 450degreesC. A single phase of composition CuInO2.67 can be produced by this method, while oxygen uptake for CuScO2 under similar conditions results in the production of CuO and Sc2O3.
