摘要
Objective: We evaluated 33 cases with fractures of the tibia plateau of 33 knees that were treated by conservative methods between 1990-2000. Material and Method: The study included 33 cases (mean age 52.18; range 31 to 83 years). The cases were evaluated clinically and radiographically after a mean follow-up of duration of 82.03 months (range 14 to 140). Cases were divided into three groups: The first group; 12 patients to whom the surgical indication to be placed however, due to various reasons conservative treatment were applied, the second group, 13 patients whom surgery is indicated were treated conservatively; a third group, eight patients to whom conservative treatment be indicated and were treated conservatively. According to Schatzker classification; three cases type I, seven cases type 11, three cases type III, three cases type IV, nine cases type V and eight cases type VI. The average weight bearing time 17.6 weeks (13-21). The patients were evaluated clinically (Rasmusen criteria) and radiographically (Resnic - Niwoyama). Results: Clinical results were six cases excellent (18.2%), 22 cases better (66.7%), five cases medium (15.1%). Clinical results were obtained satisfactory 84.9% Radiological results were 2 cases excellent (6.1%), 16 cases better (48.5%), 9 cases mild (27.2%), 6 cases worse (18.2%). Radiological results were obtained satisfactory 54.6%. Conclusion: Although clinical outcomes were satisfactory, radiological results unsatisfactory in patients with Schatzker type 4, 5, 6. Results showed that the effectiveness of conservative treatment.
