摘要
The architecture has been very studied since the architectural styles, architects with their representative works, and the dilemma of their connection with the art and science, but little since the professional practice. Therefore, the results of a documentary investigation on the practice of architecture and its commitment to society are presented, through the review of: (1) the architecture-project binomial, (2) the evolution of the profession over time (3) the contemporary challenges of the profession facing society (4) social construction as an inclusive practice of the various stakeholders. The architecture seeks spaces for people and communities that, given the complexity of the buildings, is also built with people who group together to achieve a common goal, the building. There are many criticisms that point to architecture as an elitist and formalistic profession, so the challenge of the contemporary architect is linked to assuming his social role as a facilitator of the construction of the project through the active and committed participation of stakeholders; This is the social construction of the project that recognizes the role of each of the actors with their contributions and limitations.
