Fit in steel -: informations technology in the metals industry

On February 8 and 9, 2001, PSI-BT AG supported by the German Iron and Steel Institute (VDEh) organized a symposium describing the latest developments and trends within the steel industry's information technology. Stahl-Zentrum Dusseldorf hosted this conference for the second time, and again the staging was moderated by Kerstin Garbracht, editor-in-chief of the technical journal,,stahl und eisen". The first Fit in Steel training which took place in November 1999 had already been met with good response. Reviving this success, the number of participants in the 2001-conference was doubled. This years topical themes mainly focussed on two questions: ,,IT in the course of management patterns - drag or accelerant?" and ,,Management of resources in liberalized markets - which potentials can IT set free?"
