Rotational relaxation in isotropic phase of some liquid crystals

摘要
Raman spectra of two liquid crystal compounds with differently substituted -CN groups were measured in isotropic phase and rotational autocorrelation functions were calculated in picosecond range both from deformation of phenyl ring and -CN stretching vibrations. The comparison of presented results shows the complicated nature of motions around long axes and the influence of the molecular structure. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science BN. All rights reserved.
