摘要：

This paper addresses the need to build high quality, sustainable housing in a rapidly expanding urban environment like Hong Kong. In order to build faster, yet maintain quality and reduce costs, it is suggested that a step-change in construction technology will be required. The potential for Off-Site Fabrication, in the form of a factory-produced concrete modular system, is described and examples are cited of demonstration buildings in the UK which suggest that such a system is viable.
