EFFECT OF INTEGRATED NITROGEN NOURISHMENT ON GROWTH, YIELD COMPONENTS AND SEED YIELD OF SAFFLOWER (CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS L.) IN HYBRID RICE-SAFFLOWER CROPPING SYSTEM

摘要
A field experiment was conducted at IGAU, Raipur during 2001-02 and 2002-03 in hybrid rice-safflower cropping system to study the effect of integrated nitrogen nourishment on growth, yield components and seed yield of safflower. Maximum seed yield obtained under the residual effect of 75% rec. N blended with CDU which was at par with residual effect of 75% rec. N blended with cow dung, 75% rec. N + 25% N (FYM) and 75% rec. N + 25% N (wheat straw). As regards to direct effect of integrated nitrogen nourishment, 100% rec. N produced maximum seed yield and it was statistically similar to 50% rec. N + Azotobacter + Azospirillum. The gross and net realization were found higher under residual effect of 75% rec. N blended with CDU and direct application of 100% rec. N.
