Synthesis and characterization of long chain acyl and alkyl complexes of the types [(η5-C5R′5)Fe(CO)2{C(O)R}] (R′ = H, CH3), [CpW(CO)3{C(O)R}] and [CpW(CO)3R] (R = n-alkyl)

摘要:
The long chain acyl complexes [CpFe(CO)(2){C(O)R}] (R = n-C5H11, n-C8H17, n-C11H23, and n-C17H35), [Cp*Fe(CO)(2){C(O)C11H23}] and [CpW(CO)(3){C(O)C11H23}] have been prepared by the reactions of Na[CpFe(CO)(2)], Na[CpFe(CO)(2)] and Na[CpW(CO)(3)], respectively, with the appropriate acyl chlorides. Some new alkyl complexes [CpW(CO)(3)R] (R = n-C6H13, n-C7H15, and n-C8H17) have been prepared by the reactions of Na[CpW(CO)(3)] with the appropriate alkyl bromide or iodide. All of these complexes have been characterized by microanalysis, IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR and mass spectroscopy. The thermal behavior of some acyl complexes has also been investigated by differential scanning calorimetry and thermal gravimetric analysis. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
