We describe the case of an octogenarian woman who experienced a severe alteration of mental state due to nonconvulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) complicating an intraventricular hemorrhage. Our report emphasizes that NCSE may be the cause of unexplained neurological detedoration in elderly patients with acute brain injury.
