User-centered Development of Real-time Dispatcher Clients

摘要
The application area of our client system is traffic control for public transportation networks called ITCS (intermodal transport control system). This system manages the efficient flow of traffic in cities or rural areas. The DCG2 front end ( or 'client') is the interface for the dispatcher. The aim of our project was to help the users gain a quick overview of the traffic situation and any problems arising. In addition the system should offer the features to deal with any challenge in an efficient and trustworthy manner. We used a user-centered design approach to develop new user interfaces that emphasize information visualization paradigms.
