摘要
Effects of rock classes and porosity on the relation between uniaxial compressive strength and some rock properties for carbonate rocks are discussed. Researchers applied variance account for (VAF) and root-mean-square error (RMSE) approaches in addition to the correlation coefficient to check the prediction performance of the model and compare it with that of multiple regression. Fars Province has more than 70 active limestone and marble mines that account for one-third of all mines in the province. Porosity (n) is one of the most important physical properties that controls physical and mechanical characteristics of rock, such as strength and deformability. Forty-nine carbonate rock samples from Fars Province, southern Iran, were studied, and it was found that rock classes and porosity have important effects on the relation between uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and some rock properties.
