摘要
Ultrasound contrast agents (UCAs) have significant promise to expand the role of ultrasound in radiology. Many potential applications of UCAs are discussed, with an emphasis on hepatic and renal applications. Mechanisms of contrast enhancement are described. Current and investigational imaging technologies used with contrast are outlined. Common artifacts are illustrated.
