摘要
A vexing problem in patients requiring long-term central venous access is the loss of the access route because of catheter-related infection and thrombosis. This article will summarizes the techniques that can be used to salvage an occluded catheter and to recanalize a conventional access route, and discusses the available alternate routes for central venous access.
