A Direct Current Interruption Apparatus Combined with Vacuum Interrupter, Semiconductor Switch and Electric Fuse

摘要
Electric vehicles are highly developed all over the world in recent years because it is environmentally friendly. In electric vehicle, the overload current can not be interrupted in an acceptable duration. This problem has not been solved yet so far. The objective of this paper is to design a low voltage DC apparatus that can interrupt the whole range of DC current in an acceptable duration. The topology of the apparatus is that a normally open semiconductor in series with an electric fuse, then in parallel with a vacuum interrupter. The experimental result shows that the apparatus can interrupt the one to ten times of the rated current in an acceptable duration.
