摘要：

An efficient protocol for the addition of trimethyl silanecarbonitrile to carbonyl compounds by employing 1 mol% of L-histidine sodium salt alone as the catalyst is presented. A variety of aromatic, aliphatic and cyclic carbonyl compounds have been converted into the corresponding trimethylethers in excellent yield (up to 99%) under mild conditions.
