The published letters outline the history of the relationship between the two correspondents, so far only disclosed in a fragmentary manner in M. V. Sabashnikova's book The Green Snake (1954) about her encounters with Remizov in pre-revolutionary Russia. Using archival data, the publisher details the biographical episodes mentioned by the memoirist, and objectifies the topic of contacts in emigration, related to the circle of the famous Anthroposophists in Germany, which has remained outside the scope of the book.
