Results of a study of the evolution of the microstructure and mechanical properties of two-phase titanium VT6 alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) with an initial globular structure are reported in this paper. The alloy was subjected to equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) at 700 degrees C using 1-12 passes. The evolution of the average grain size, morphology of phases, microhardness, and mechanical properties as a function of the number of passes upon ECAP has been studied. The possibility of severe refinement of the microstructure of the VT6 alloy using ECAP has been established.
