摘要
Fragmentation by surface collision has been studied for the (endohedral) metallofullerene species LaC82+ and La2C100+. Three different types of fragment ions are detected: (i) Lanthanum-containing carbon clusters formed by loss of C-2 and/or small even-numbered C-2n units, (ii) empty fullerenes C-2n(+), and (iii) small lanthanum-containing fragments LaC2n+ with n = 0,1,2,3 (and La2C2n, n = 1, 2, for La2C100+). Possible fragmentation processes are discussed and the results are compared with the surface-induced fragmentation of higher fullerenes.
