摘要
gamma-Cyclodextrin (CAS 17465-86-0) is of increasing interest as excipient and additive for drugs, because of the higher solubility in water in comparison to beta-cyclodextrin (CAS 7585-39-9) and the very low toxicity. Commercially available gamma-cyclodextrin contains absorbed water. The quantitative determination of these amounts of water is important for the product specification as well as for the preparation of inclusion complexes. Near-Infrared Spectroscopy is a very convenient method for a fast and sufficiently accurate determination of the water content of gamma-cyclodextrin for the product specification as well as for the quality control of end products.
