摘要
Halogen bonding, the interaction between halogen atoms and lone pair possessing atoms, overcomes the low affinity existing between perfluorocarbon and hydrocarbon derivatives. This interaction effectively drives the self-assembly of materials wherein perfluorocarbon and hydrocarbon layers alternate thanks to a remarkable module segregation. The approach has been exploited in supramolecular polymer coating. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
