摘要
Planning for sustainable mobility means to assume the environmental externalities produced by metropolitan mobility patterns related to car dependence. For this reason, the urban integration of infrastructures and transport systems is a key factor to promote a sustainable approach of mobility planning, which is based on several aspects, such as, designing of city to personal scale or the promotion of public transport systems. So, the argument of this paper is about the role of these public transport systems as tools to develop sustainable mobility patterns in metropolitan regions. Therefore, the paper studies the urban integration of light rail systems in the metropolitan areas of Granada, Malaga and Sevilla through the assessment of metropolitan, urban and mobility plans. In view of these objectives, it will be identified several innovative proposal which are trying to promote an efficient environmental urban integration of light rail systems previously mentioned. Finally, different strategies of integration between plans, scales and innovations will be proposed. Not only can these strategies be useful to promote a higher success in the environmental urban integration of light rail systems, but they are also a very good tool to develop a metropolitan mobility more sustainable.
