H-1 NMR spectra of a series of cis-[Pt(Pip)(Am)Cl-2] complexes (Pip=piperidine, Am=another amine) have been recorded and analyzed. Spin-spin splitting patterns of nonequivalent protons H-alpha(a), H-alpha(e), H-beta(a), H-beta(e), H-gamma(a), and H-gamma(e) of piperidine have been designated. The piperidine ring has a chair confirmation with the nitrogen atom bound to the Pt atom in an equatorial manner; the examined complexes have a cis-configuration, with the plane of aromatic an-tine and the piperidine ring perpendicular to the coordination plane of Pt(II).
