摘要
Adsorption of thorium on the metal oxides impregnated silica has been investigated. The sorption kinetics revealed the trend in rate of Th sorption as iron oxide > chromium oxide > vanadium oxide. The sorption capacities were evaluated from Langmuir isotherm with the trend in the strength of the bonding chromium oxide > iron oxide > vanadium oxide. The sorption behavior was also analyzed comparing Dubinin-Radushkevich, Temkin and Freundlich isotherm. Oxalic acid was found to strip thorium effectively from sorbent. Chromium oxide-silica was found to be the most efficient and selective sorbent with co-sorption of Ag, Bi, Ga, In and Tl.
