摘要
In this interview, conducted for the 20th Anniversary Special Issue, I asked 16 feminist media studies scholars what it means to work in and around the modern University. The interview questions I asked colleagues are the questions that you may reflect on yourself or discuss with friends and colleagues after (or during) conferences and symposium at stumbled-upon coffee shops at bars in tiny or sprawling unfamiliar cities. Why do we do the work that we do? Does the institution value our work? What does it mean to be a feminist in the University? What needs to change? Where can we find joy? I want to thank all of the women who gave me their time so generously this summer. Interviews were conducted online, and each of them could have been published in full. The limited space in this special issue means I have selected and edited the answers below.
