摘要：

In the context that the construction of ecological environment and ecological civilization has become a national strategy of the Chinese government towards sustainable development, universities should play an active role in this process. Based on the interpretation of ecological civilization, the author suggests that Chinese universities need to take responsibilities in promoting ecological civilization construction by taking the advantages of knowledge, human and technological resources, which contribute to support the ecological civilization construction; and actively engage in eco-campus construction. This research may provide reference toward sustainable development of Chinese higher education.
