A comparative study on low phase noise feedback oscillators based on planar elliptic resonators

摘要
In this article, low phase noise microwave oscillators based on elliptic resonators have been reported. Eight different designs of elliptic oscillators in various frequency bands such as L and X have been compared with each other and the results of them have been presented. The parameters such as active devise, elliptic resonator, oscillation frequency, output power, phase noise, and figure-of-merit are considered. In the end, the low phase noise X-band oscillator based on elliptic filter and branchline coupler is having better results of phase noise among the other elliptic microwave oscillators.
