摘要
We perfectly know how to flee from the terrifying knowledge that we are mortal and build ourselves in the chimera that life does not end. Advanced diseases are a huge challenge to this reality, both for ill persons and their relatives. The threat of death, more tangible than ever, produces panic and leads to a feeling of chaos, with manifestations of psychic trauma. The derived suffering is complex and multifactorial. Theoretical-practical models are needed that allow professionals to adequately address the multiple physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of persons who suffer them. This is an in-depth integrity restoration work, to lead to help a process of dying with dignity and peace. Art therapy, as a holistic and integrative complementary treatment, contributes to palliative care so that the person finds the necessary internal resources to regulate and adapt. Accompanied by a safe relationship, the person establishes healing connections with his/her spiritual condition, to which artistic creation facilitates access.
