INFLUENCE OF BIOSTIMULATORS, VARIETY AND CROPPING YEAR ON ROOT YIELD, SUGAR CONTENT AND POLARIZED SUGAR YIELD OF SUGAR BEET

Field experiment investigating the effect of weather conditions, variety and growth biostimulators on root yield, sugar content and polarized sugar yield was established in 2017 and 2018 at EXBA SPU near Dolna Malanta. Agrotechnical operations were in line with the crop requirements and four varieties of sugar beet were included in the experiment - Antek, Brian, Galvani, Kosmas, with double growth biostimulator (Naturalny PLON (R) and NANO-GRO (R) Aqua) treatment during the vegetation period. The obtained results confirmed the highly significant influence of the year on all the monitored parameters. In 2017, we found highly significant higher values of root yield (+12.24 t ha(-1)), polarized sugar yield (1.69 t ha(-1)) and in 2018 a highly significant greater value of sugar content (+0.68%). From the selected varieties, the highest root yield 72.29 t ha(-1) and polarized sugar yield 12.70 t ha(-1) with a highly significant difference compared to other varieties were found in the Brian variety. Naturalny PLON (R) and NANO-GRO (R) Aqua growth biostimulators had a positive effect (statistically highly significant) on the root yield and the polarized sugar yield compared to the control variant, however, the sugar content of the roots was unaffected.
