摘要
The food source of Eratyrus mucronatus (Hemiptera, Triatominae) is reported for the first time. A bug nymph of V stage, not infected with Trypanosoma cruzi, was found inside a house in the locality of Pozo Hondo, Ejido, Campo Elias Municipality, in southern Merida State, Venezuela. Using an immunoglobulin enzymatic reaction of the gut content, it was established that the insect had fed blood of human and dog species, 10 and 3 days ago, respectively. The risk of this species in the transmission of Chagas disease in this location is discussed.
